Train

Croy Station

Croy station is on the Glasgow Queen Street/ Edinburgh line. There are direct trains, operated by First ScotRail (external link), from Glasgow Queen Street (also stopping at Bishopbriggs & Lenzie).Theres also direct trains from Edinburgh (Waverley & Haymarket), Falkirk (High), Alloa, Stirling, Bridge Of Allan, Dunblane & Larbet stations. Theres usually 4 trains an hour (monday - saturday) from Glasgow & journey time is 12-16 minutes. From Edinburgh its a more limited 1/2 hourly service taking @ 40 minutes. There is a limited bus service (number 43, 403 or 147 operated by Canavan Coaches) from the sheltered bus stop across the main road at the bridge costing @ 80p. There is no taxi rank at the station, but there is a public telephone.


The return train fare from Glasgow to Croy is £3.85. Edinburgh to Croy is £9.30. Falkirk to Croy is £5.00. Alloa to Croy is £6.10 These are based on Cheap Day Returns. Higher fares may apply if travelling to a midweek game during the peak-time.


If you are travelling by train with children between the ages of 5 & 16 years old then ask for a Family Funday return ticket. Its a special promotional ticket for off-peak only. Accompanioned children travel free with fare paying adult. (eg normal return fares for one adult & two children from Glasgow to Croy would be £7.75.
