How to get to Broadwood Stadium
Just follow the path. It will take you about 10 minutes to negoiate the undulating path.
Go straight through the first mini-roundabout .......
......& head up-hill towards a 2nd mini-roundabout. (ignore the turn-off on the right on the way up to the mini-roundabout)
I am seriously comtemplating re-naming this site www.count-the-number-of-bloody-roundabouts-on-the-road-to-the-ice-station.co.uk. E-mail me if you think its a catchy name please !
At this 2nd mini-roundabout take the right hand exit (heading towards the red/brown housing estate in the picture background) which takes you down-hill to a 3rd, bigger roundabout. You will have to cross over the road to the left at some stage when you are going downhill.
Still another 10 minute walk ahead of you from this big roundabout, but at least the Stadium is in view ! Follow the left-hand up-hill road from the round-about (look for the road-sign "Stirling" & "Town Centre")
Only one side of this up-hill road is paved so you will have to cross over this busy road from the big roundabout. Take care.
If you are totally knackered by this point, look over to your right when you are half-way up the hill & take in the view
at the end of the houses over the road, you will shortly join up with those people who have used the short route & are trying to cross the road to get on the side you are on. 5 more minutes walk to go..
Turn right at the advertising boards & go down the cul-de-sac. Stay on the right hand path to go to the stadium. If you have time & wish to have a few beers or a pub lunch take the left hand path through the underpass. Details here on the pub. The left hand path also takes you to aforementioned Craiglinn Bus Interchange.
Theres a car work-shop & an aquatic supplies unit in the cul-de-sac but you're just following the natural path
Across the road is wasteland on which broken dreams lie. When Clyde moved to Broadwood, it was to be the centrepiece of an out of town shopping complex with cinema, restaurants & big name stores. Hasnt quite happened, due to local government reorganisations, but who knows what the future holds ?. Continue on the natural path & glance to your right.....
.....& you'll be rewarded with this view. Go on. You've come this far. Walk down the hill to the stadium ! Return to Top.
