Welcome to the Ice Station
Hello and welcome to this basic & totally unofficial guide on how to get to Broadwood Stadium in Cumbernauld by using the local public transport services available in the immediate area.
The stadium is the current home of Clyde Football Club. An 8096 all-seater stadium with 3 stands, it has hosted UEFA youth international games involving Scotlands' U21 team & also womans' full international games.
It was hoped that the 4th stand would have been built before the SPL deadline of 31 March 2004, thus completing the stadium, but this was not achieved due to various factors. There is now no intent by North Lanarkshire Council & the Club to complete Broadwood into a 4 stand stadium due to to SPL lowering the seat threshold to 6000, but the stadium would still require under-soil heating to be allowed to join the SPL, if the Club was able to reach the dizzy heights of the Scottsh First Division & remain there until after the final game. Adjacent to the stadium there are 4 x 5-a-side size artificial pitches & 2 x full size Hockey pitches. A Leisure Centre & Gymnastics Centre complexes are also available. The stadium belongs to North Lanarkshire Council & is classed as a community leisure facility for the benefit of local council tax payers......
